Suzanne English – SuzanneLe Designs

With an interest in art and creating beautiful objects, from my roots in the Pacific Northwest, whether it was crochet, sewing, painting or drawing, art was my life! I studied at Cornish College of the Arts during the Art Revolution of 1969-70. My major was Interior Design. My favorite classes were Architectural Design, Art History and the Psychology of Color. My life soon took me elsewhere and I ended up spending 45 years in the inland/ocean marine insurance industry.

Somewhere in the middle of that time (in the early 90’s), I felt I needed to take back my art and started to design and make jewelry from found objects during my world travels. Living during that time in the San Francisco Bay Area, which gave me opportunities to collect what I could later use to create beautiful Art to Wear, from beads to Kimono fabric to luscious yarns.

Over the last more than two decades, I have attended several classes, workshops and retreats, taught classes in jewelry and sewing and sold my creations. For several years now, I have lived in Reno, Nevada where I finally have time to be a full time artist.

Details for the terra cotta and white beaded piece: This piece includes vintage & new glass beads, crystals and freshwater pearls. The neck rope is removable and made from a silk fabric strip and Italian wire mesh , that can be ruffled if desired, finished with a gold plated lobster claw and extended chain closure.
